Try to promote your Facebook page. You want to try to get as many likes as you can as this is one of the metrics which Google pays attention to. The more people that like your page the better, why not ask your vendors to like your page and their own property.

Try to get good reviews – here’s our guide.

People love humour and a nice happy story, so don’t be afraid to incorporate these into your posts.

Try to send one post in the morning and one late afternoon/early evening to try to appear at the top of everyone’s page. Don’t forget evenings and weekends as well.

Be informative, for example tell people what’s happening around your community, ask their opinions and engage in conversations.

Remember to promote your Facebook page and other social media pages, links on your email signature can help as well as links from your website.

Be polite. Try to respond to people’s posts especially to answer questions or say thank you.

Try to engage people by asking questions like:

  • Tell us about your happiest moving experience.
  • Do you suffer from damp in your rental property? Tell us what you have done to combat it.

Don’t mention the three killers – politics, football or religion as this will undoubtedly offend someone somewhere.

Don’t post negative news.

Always respond to negative comments and don’t delete them.

Use images as it’s much easier to digest than boring long text.
