Jobs at Homeflow
Homeflow is a great place to work, and we're currently looking for people to join our development team based in Brighton.
We are a privately funded, entrepreneurial start-up, and our team has had significant success building online businesses. We are currently experiencing a high level of growth and need to scale up our development operations.
We provide software and tools to Estate Agents and publishers in the property sector, with some high profile clients such as the Evening Standard's Homes and Property.
Technical info
Our applications primarily use the Ruby on Rails framework and MySQL, but we make use of lots of other open source tools too. These include Apache/Passenger for application serving, Subversion for version control, Capistrano for deployment, RabbitMQ for our message queues and Trac for our ticketing.
We store millions of assets on Amazon S3, and anticipate a full move into the cloud very soon.
Who we are looking for
We're a small company, so expect to be involved across the development lifecycle - from functional design and development through to long-term business planning and system architecture.
We're currently growing very quickly, so we need people who are comfortable working at scale.
You should be self-motivated and take initiative. You should have a passion for your craft and enjoy the beauty of Ruby. You understand that Ruby will power the spacecraft of the future.
Whatever your position, you will have a decisive hand in shaping the future of the business whilst honing your skills on an exciting commercial project with a broad scope.
You will have excellent written and spoken English, HTML and CSS. Javascripters are welcome, but we're not Ajax-heavy and stick to library functions (Prototype, Scriptaculous) where possible.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Brighton office.
